چکیده مقاله:

Hydrogen sulfide removal by biological oxidation enables simultaneous sulfur recovery under mild operating conditions. This study presents a coupled mathematical model of a bubble column bioreactor developed in COMSOL Multiphysics for biological sulfide oxidation. The model combines hydrodynamics, oxygen mass transfer, and microbial kinetics under a two-stage oxygen supply strategy. Oxygen is initially injected until dissolved oxygen reaches saturation, after which aeration is suspended and biological sulfide oxidation becomes dominant. The model provides a temporal analysis of the transition from mass transfer to biokinetic control, offering a theoretical framework for improving oxygen utilization and elemental sulfur production.
