چکیده مقاله:

Natural gas hydrates represent a vast unconventional methane resource, yet conventional production methods face significant technical, environmental, and geomechanical challenges. CO۲-CH۴ exchange has emerged as a promising alternative that couples methane recovery with long-term carbon dioxide sequestration by exploiting the greater thermodynamic stability of CO۲ hydrates. This paper reviews the fundamental properties of gas hydrates, thermodynamic driving forces, molecular- and reservoir-scale exchange mechanisms, and the kinetic and mass-transfer limitations governing replacement efficiency. Particular emphasis is placed on the interplay between dissociation-reformation and solid-state exchange processes, transport constraints, and thermal effects. The analysis highlights both the potential and the remaining challenges of CO۲-CH۴ exchange for sustainable energy production and carbon management.
