چکیده مقاله:

Aluminum titanate (Al۲TiO۵, AT) is a high-temperature ceramic widely used for refractory and thermal-insulation components due to its low thermal expansion and exceptional thermal shock resistance. In this study, ß-Al۲TiO۵ was synthesized via conventional solid-state reaction from stoichiometric Al۲O۳ and TiO۲ powders. X-ray diffraction revealed significant ß-phase formation above ۱۳۰۰ °C, with near-complete conversion at ۱۴۰۰-۱۴۵۰°C. SEM observations showed elongated intergrown grains and pervasive microcracks, reflecting high thermal anisotropy. These results confirm that solid-state reaction provides predictable phase evolution and characteristic microstructure, serving as a reliable method for producing ß-Al۲TiO۵ and a baseline for future thermal and mechanical optimization.
