This investigation focuses on the changes in microstructure and their influence on mechanical performance of a biodegradable Zn-۲Cu-۱Mg-۰.۲Sr alloy. The alloy was prepared through casting and subsequently processed through homogenization heat treatment at ۳۵۰ °C for ۹h to reduce segregation and promote structural refinement. Microstructural characterization was carried out using XRD and OM. Mechanical properties were evaluated through tensile testing. The appropriate hot rolling temperature was determined using DSC, ensuring deformation was performed above the alloy's recrystallization threshold. The final assessment highlights the relationships between processing, microstructure and mechanical performance, offering valuable insights into the alloy's potential for biodegradable applications.
