چکیده مقاله:

The reduction of iron ore by reductants present in the volatile matter of walnut shells and non-coking coal has been thermodynamically investigated. For this purpose, the carbon and hydrogen contents of the volatile matter, along with the iron oxides in the ore, were considered as reactants, and equilibrium phases were determined using FactSage ۶.۱ software. The results indicate that the volatile matter derived from non-coking coal exhibits a higher reducibility compared to that from walnut shells. This superior reducibility is attributed to the higher release temperature of volatiles from non-coking coal as well as its greater concentration of reducing species.
