چکیده مقاله:

This study investigates the effectiveness of ammonium persulfate-assisted jarosite precipitation for iron removal in zinc hydrometallurgy and compares its performance with conventional lime neutralization. Industrial-grade leach solutions were treated under controlled laboratory conditions, and key parameters, including filtrate composition, precipitation residue characteristics, and zinc recovery, were evaluated. The results demonstrate that ammonium persulfate enhances Fe۳+ oxidation, improves jarosite crystallization, and reduces zinc content in the residue. Moreover, jarosite cakes exhibit higher washability and zinc recovery. Overall, the process provides a more efficient and selective route for iron removal, offering significant advantages over lime precipitation.
