چکیده مقاله:

Microalloying is an efficient strategy to improve the properties of bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) through inducing either chemical or structural heterogeneity. This study explores the structural evolution of Zr۵۰Cu۴۰Al۱۰ and (Zr۵۰Cu۴۰Al۱۰)۹۹Sn۱ BMGs. The results of X-ray and differential scanning calorimetry analyses reveal that microalloying increases the full width at half maximum and diffraction angle of XRD peaks. It also enhances the enthalpy of relaxation, indicating that Sn-doped BMG contains more structural heterogeneity compared to base BMG. This microalloying-driven rejuvenation can be attributed to the more negative enthalpy of mixing of Zr-Sn (-۴۳ kJ/mol) compared to Zr-Cu (-۲۳ kJ/mol).
