چکیده مقاله:
Translations should not be literal but should convey the full meaning of the original text, including its cultural context. Some languages contain idioms and sayings that do not exist in others. In this process, creativity plays an important role in translation quality. The purpose of this research project is to examine the relationship between creativity and translation quality. In the present study, the researchers utilize a standard creative questionnaire (CQ) alongside a standard TOEFL reading text comprising two paragraphs. Twenty English translation students participate in the study to demonstrate their translation capabilities. To ensure a homogeneous sample in terms of gender, the researchers include ten male and ten female examinees. The Tehran Central Branch of Islamic Azad University is selected as the research site. The translation of the two paragraphs and the completion of the creativity questionnaire are both allotted ۳۰ minutes each. The creativity questionnaire consists of ۴۰ questions, and all participants are ۲۲ years old or older. Students are permitted to use various dictionaries to look up the meanings of words. Initially, students receive a translation text, and after ۳۰ minutes, they answer the creativity questionnaire in the subsequent ۳۰ minutes. Finally, the researchers analyze the results. By calculating the coefficient correlation of the two variables, the findings reveal that creativity plays a significant role in translation quality. Accordingly, as creativity increases, so does the quality of translation.
