Psycholinguistic Models of Reading Comprehension as a Receptive Skill

Reading Comprehension is considered one of the effective and receptive skills among language skills. It is labeled as receptive since language learners access language concepts via orthographical receiving of comprehensible input. Because reading comprehension is one of the main skills of English in the field of language learning and language development, in this article, attempts have been made to present a concise account of the skill as well as the models accompanied with it. To serve the purpose of the study, first a definition of meaning has been presented and then, a number of main models of reading comprehension have been discussed.
