چکیده مقاله:

Tourism is recognized as one of the largest economic industries in the world. Due to its numerous positive economic, cultural, and social impacts, it has attracted the attention of various countries. However, its negative effects on the environment and local communities have also highlighted the increasing need for the development of sustainable tourism. One of the key aspects of this sustainable development is the utilization of indigenous and local capacities. This paper examines the role of indigenous sustainability in boosting tourism. As a global industry, tourism, in addition to these positive impacts, faces challenges such as the degradation of natural resources and cultural changes. These challenges necessitate attention to the principles of sustainable tourism—a concept that emphasizes the preservation of natural, cultural, and social resources alongside economic development. One of the main dimensions of this type of tourism is the use of indigenous and local capacities, which can contribute to the growth and prosperity of the industry. This study investigates the role of indigenous sustainability in promoting tourism and its impact on the sustainable development of local communities. The research methodology employed in this study is descriptive-analytical, including the examination of case studies both within the country and internationally. Sustainable tourism seeks to create economic opportunities while simultaneously preserving the environment and indigenous cultures. Indigenous communities, due to their deep and historical connection with natural and cultural resources, can serve as pioneers in this type of tourism. Leveraging local culture, traditions, handicrafts, and cultural heritage can help attract tourists while also ensuring the preservation of these valuable resources for future generations. However, there are challenges that must be addressed, including the need for proper tourism management, education of both tourists and local communities, and prevention of resource exploitation and degradation. Nevertheless, if tourism is developed responsibly and in accordance with the principles of sustainability, it can contribute to strengthening the local economy, improving the quality of life for indigenous communities, and protecting the environment. Ultimately, this paper emphasizes that utilizing indigenous capacities and involving local communities in tourism management can be considered a key strategy for developing sustainable tourism that is compatible with both the environment and local cultures. The tourism industry has evolved in parallel with the sustainable architecture movement. Over recent years, sustainable architecture has been well-defined, implemented, and utilized in practice. The concept of sustainable development has been a central focus of various management programs, including tourism, for several decades, driven by environmental crises, overconsumption of non renewable energy, and challenges faced by countries worldwide. Many planners and development policymakers regard tourism as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.
