چکیده مقاله:

As climate change accelerates and ecological systems face unprecedented disruptions, the conventional model of static urban development proves increasingly inadequate. This paper proposes a conceptual and practical framework for designing nature-responsive cities- urban environments that not only coexist with nature but actively adapt to its changing conditions. Drawing from ecological theory, adaptive architecture, and urban resilience strategies, the study argues for a shift from resistance-based urban planning to adaptive co-evolution with natural systems. The framework integrates three key components: (۱) ecological sensitivity, ensuring that urban design responds to the dynamics of local ecosystems; (۲) adaptive infrastructure, enabling flexibility in land use, materials, and technologies; and (۳) participatory governance, encouraging communities to engage in shaping and monitoring responsive systems. Through case studies of cities implementing ecological corridors, flood-adaptive housing, and rewilding strategies, the paper demonstrates how design can become a dynamic agent in restoring and reinforcing urban ecosystems. The proposed approach positions nature not as a passive backdrop but as an active partner in shaping urban life. By aligning development with ecological rhythms and feedback loops, nature-responsive cities enhance both biodiversity and human resilience in the face of environmental uncertainty. This research contributes to the emerging discourse on post-anthropocentric urbanism and offers actionable insights for urban designers, policymakers, and environmental planners committed to sustainable and regenerative futures.
