چکیده مقاله:

This article investigates the use and optimization of recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) materials, focusing on cold recycling with polymer-modified asphalt emulsions. Recycling asphalt pavement material with using different ways is one of the most effective ways of repair, optimizing and reconstruction. the primary objective is to determine the optimal mix design by evaluating the effects of chemical additives (cement and lime) and varying percentages of styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) polymer-modified asphalt emulsion on the recycled mixture's properties. This research examines the properties of the neat asphalt, SBS polymer, and the emulsifier used, and describes the production process of the polymer-modified asphalt emulsion with different SBS percentages. Various tests, including penetration grade, softening point, ductility, elastic recovery, and Marshall Stability, were performed on the produced polymer-modified asphalt samples. Furthermore, the effect of adding cement and lime to the RAP mixture on its resistance and durability was investigated. The results indicate that an optimal mix design, incorporating the appropriate percentage of cement or lime and polymer-modified asphalt emulsion, can improve the properties of the recycled asphalt mixture and enhance its performance in road paving.
