چکیده مقاله:

This study investigates the relationship between the design functionality, perceived security, maintenance quality, and psychological well-being of older adults utilizing the Chitgar Green Spaces in Tehran. Urban green spaces are critical determinants of perceived safety and mental refreshment for vulnerable users. Adopting an applied methodology, data was collected using a structured questionnaire, targeting approximately fifty older adults, complemented by a five-point scale structured field observation protocol. Results reveal a generally favorable environment, with Chitgar's expansive spatial structure, high-quality walkways, and strong visual appeal contributing significantly to restorative experiences. Elderly users reported high mean scores for environmental absorption and emotional refreshment. However, the study identified critical shortcomings, notably in the uniformity of night-time lighting, the suitability and distribution of seating, and the low availability of quiet resting areas. These findings indicate that targeted improvements in lighting distribution, ergonomic seating, and noise mitigation are essential to maximize the psychological and functional benefits derived by older adults.
