چکیده مقاله:
Urban resilience has become an increasingly critical focus in contemporary urban planning and development, especially in the face of rapid urbanization, climate change, socio-economic inequalities, and environmental degradation. As both a dynamic economic engine and a source of cultural expression, the tourism sector holds the potential to either strengthen or undermine urban resilience. While it can drive economic growth, preserve heritage, and promote community engagement, it may also intensify environmental stress and deepen social disparities. In response to these challenges, new models of sustainable urban tourism—namely creative tourism, responsible tourism, and experience-based tourism—have emerged as alternative approaches that emphasize meaningful engagement, inclusivity, and environmental sensitivity. These models go beyond traditional tourism by fostering localized experiences, community empowerment, and more equitable and sustainable development outcomes. This study presents a systematic review of academic literature to explore how these tourism models contribute to the enhancement of urban resilience across three main dimensions: economic, social, and environmental. The findings suggest that sustainable tourism practices can promote economic diversification, create stable employment, strengthen social capital, and reduce ecological footprints through better resource management and community-based planning. Furthermore, the integration of smart technologies—such as GIS, data analytics, and participatory digital platforms—has increased the scalability and efficiency of these models, allowing for improved monitoring, planning, and adaptive governance. However, the review also reveals several research gaps and ongoing challenges, particularly in ensuring equitable distribution of tourism benefits, achieving context-sensitive scalability, and understanding the long-term socio-cultural impacts of technology-driven tourism. These findings highlight the need for deeper empirical studies and interdisciplinary frameworks to guide the future of sustainable urban tourism within resilient city agendas.
