چکیده مقاله:

Ginseng, invaluable for its ginsenosides, is a key focus for understanding the optimum water requirement of this herbal plant amidst climate change challenges. The plasticity index is pivotal for its adaptation and secondary metabolite production. This study meticulously evaluated the impact of three irrigation regimes (۱۰۰%, ۵۰%, and ۲۵% Field Capacity) on ginseng's plasticity index, examining Root Mass Ratio (RMR), Root Shoot Ratio (R/S), and Height Ratio (H/R). Results revealed complex responses. RMR surprisingly decreased with intensifying severe water stress, suggesting an alternative adaptive strategy. R/S exhibited a non-linear pattern, peaking under mild stress and sharply declining under severe conditions, indicating a critical tolerance threshold. Conversely, H/R consistently increased with the severity of water stress, highlighting the relative resilience of shoots. These pivotal findings redefine ginseng's physiological adaptation, offering crucial insights for developing precise and sustainable water management protocols. This research is paramount for ensuring global ginseng production in a variable climate.
