چکیده مقاله:
In construction industry, concrete is the most popular material. Although concrete brings up many advantages to the constructors, it is a primary source of carbon dioxide (CO۲) emissions, specially due to the widespread usage of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). In response to these challenges, eco-concrete systems, also known as green concrete, are a great solution to reduce the carbon footprint in the environment and decline the resource consumption. Green concrete plays an important role in sustainable development. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of eco-concrete systems, including material technologies, structural properties, environmental performance, and economical considerations. Moreover, several experimental case studies are examined to demonstrate the advantages of utilizing supplementary materials in green concrete, while also identifying key challenges and limitations, and providing recommendations for future research.
