چکیده مقاله:
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into educational frameworks has fundamentally transformed the landscape of Second Language Acquisition (SLA). While quantitative studies have extensively documented the efficacy of AI tools in improving vocabulary retention and grammatical accuracy, there remains a critical dearth of qualitative research exploring the lived experiences of language learners interacting with these systems. This phenomenological qualitative study investigates how ۳۰ adult English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners perceive the role of generative AI and intelligent tutoring systems in their language acquisition journey. Utilizing semi-structured, in-depth interviews and Braun and Clarke's (۲۰۰۶) six-step thematic analysis, this research uncovers four primary themes: (۱) The Infinite and Patient Tutor: Hyper-Personalization of Learning; (۲) The Psychological Shield: Eradicating the Affective Filter and Foreign Language Anxiety; (۳) Omnipresent Immersion and Micro-Scaffolding; and (۴) The Pragmatic Chasm: Machine Hallucinations and the Lack of Cultural Nuance. The findings indicate that while AI acts as a revolutionary, non-judgmental conversational partner that significantly boosts learner autonomy and confidence, human pedagogical oversight remains indispensable for mastering sociocultural pragmatics. Implications for educators and developers are discussed.
