Modeling a maximal covering location problem with endogenous demand

This paper studies a maximal covering location problem with endogenous demand, where demand realization depends on service accessibility and quality. To solve the resulting complex optimization problem, a tailored genetic algorithm is proposed. The mathematical model is extended to allow service quality differentiation, enabling partial and quality-dependent demand realization. The proposed approach provides a realistic and flexible framework for coverage-based facility location planning.
