چکیده مقاله:

The accelerated development of artificial intelligence (AI) has profoundly influenced higher education systems worldwide, reshaping educational management structures, instructional processes, and academic professions. This study aims to examine the dual role of AI as both an enabling technology and a potential competitor to human educators, with a particular focus on higher education institutions in developing countries. Using a conceptual and analytical review of recent scholarly literature, this paper identifies the key opportunities offered by AI—including personalized learning, data-driven decision-making, enhanced assessment systems, and increased organizational efficiency—as well as the major challenges associated with its adoption, such as infrastructural constraints, ethical and legal concerns, faculty resistance, skills gaps, and unequal access to technological resources. Beyond its supportive function, AI is increasingly capable of performing complex cognitive and instructional tasks, raising critical questions about the future of academic employment and educational governance. The findings highlight the necessity for strategic planning, policy reform, and capacity building to ensure that AI integration enhances educational quality while preserving human-centered values in teaching and management. The study contributes to the growing discourse on AI in education by emphasizing its implications for academic jobs and educational management, offering practical insights for policymakers, university leaders, and researchers.
