چکیده مقاله:

With the increasing extent of urban density and limited availability of surface land, underground space development has become a critical strategy in infrastructure projects. Deep excavations in densely populated areas pose significant technical challenges and stability risks, necessitating advanced numerical analyses. This study investigates the soil arching mechanism and its effect on excavation support systems. Results show that soil arching transfers a substantial portion of lateral stresses to the anchor rods, reducing pressure on excavation walls. Additionally, optimizing anchor rod diameter significantly improves lateral system performance. These findings support the design of safer and more economical retaining structures.
