چکیده مقاله:

Zoonotic dermatophytosis caused by Microsporum canis is one of the most prevalent superficial fungal infections shared between animals and humans. Domestic cats often act as asymptomatic carriers and serve as a primary reservoir for transmission to pet owners. The present case describes a human infection caused by M. canis acquired from a household cat, with successful synchronous treatment of both the animal and human host. The diagnosis was confirmed by direct microscopy, culture, and molecular sequencing. Both subjects were treated concurrently with systemic and topical antifungal therapies, along with environmental disinfection. Full recovery was achieved within four weeks, and follow-up mycological tests were negative. This report emphasizes the importance of adopting a One Health perspective that integrates veterinary, medical, and environmental management in addressing zoonotic fungal infections.
