چکیده مقاله:

Biodiesel has attracted significant attention as a renewable and environmentally friendly alternative to fossil-based diesel fuels. Increasing concerns regarding energy security, depletion of petroleum resources, climate change, and environmental pollution have accelerated research and development activities related to biodiesel production worldwide [۱,۶,۷]. Biodiesel is characterized by its biodegradability, non-toxicity, and favorable emission profile compared to petroleum diesel [۱,۲]. This study presents a comprehensive overview of biodiesel production with emphasis on feedstock availability, production methods, and key process technologies. Various biodiesel feedstocks, including edible oils, non-edible oils, waste cooking oils, and animal fats, are critically discussed and compared in terms of availability, sustainability, and technical limitations [۳,۴,۶]. In addition, major biodiesel production methods, particularly transesterification processes and catalyst types, are reviewed with respect to reaction efficiency, operating conditions, and industrial applicability [۵,۸,۱۰]. The advantages and limitations of different production routes are highlighted to provide a clear perspective on current trends and future development of biodiesel technologies [۷,۱۱,۱۲].
