This study evaluated the effectiveness of the Penn Resiliency Program (PRP) on academic procrastination and clinical symptoms (depression, anxiety, and stress) among university students. Employing a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design, ۶۰ undergraduate students from Islamic Azad University, Mashhad Branch, who met predetermined inclusion criteria, were randomly assigned to either an experimental group (n = ۳۰) that received the ۷-session PRP intervention or a wait-list control group (n = ۳۰). Participants completed the Tuckman Procrastination Scale and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-۲۱) at both assessment points. Data were analyzed using multivariate and univariate analyses of covariance. Results from the MANCOVA revealed a significant overall multivariate effect of group membership on the combined dependent variables (Wilks' Lambda = ۰.۱۴, F(۴, ۵۱) = ۷۷. Subsequent univariate ANCOVAs demonstrated that the PRP intervention led to statistically significant reductions in academic procrastination (p =. ۵۴), and stress (p <. ۸۱) relative to the control condition. These findings provide compelling evidence that the Penn Resiliency Program is an efficacious cognitive-behavioral intervention for simultaneously enhancing adaptive academic behavior and reducing psychological symptomatology among university students, supporting its implementation as a scalable preventive strategy within higher education settings.
