چکیده مقاله:

Zoonotic diseases are responsible for more than ۶۰% of all human infections and are transmitted among animal and human populations. Hydatid cyst is one of the most important zoonotic diseases that is caused by Echinococcus granulosus. Dogs are definitive hosts, while humans and livestock, such as sheep and cattle, are intermediate hosts for the parasite. Infection is transferred through the oral-fecal pathway by eggs of the parasite and more by eating vegetables and food contaminated with dog stool containing eggs of the parasite. The aim of this study was to evaluate the rate of Hydatid cyst in the liver and lung of slaughtered Cattles and Buffaloes of Sarab slaughterhouse during April ۲۰۲۱ until April ۲۰۲۲. Overall, ۱۱۹۶۳ slaughtered livestocks were inspected, of these numbers, ۶۶۹۴ were sheeps and goats and ۵۲۶۹ were Cattles and Buffaloes. Prevalence of Hydatid cyst in the liver and lung of slaughtered Cattles and Buffaloes were ۹.۹۴% (۵۲۴ case) and ۱۸.۳۷% (۹۶۸ case). The results of this study indicated that the prevalence of the aforementioned parasites was high, which caused high economic losses. Therefore, sanitary and preventive measures should be taken.
