چکیده مقاله:

Liver flukes cause important diseases such as fascioliasis and dicroceliasis in ruminants, which can lead to economic losses in livestock farming. In addition, as zoonotic diseases, they are also of great importance for health. Control programs require knowledge of the distribution of species in endemic areas. Fluke trematodes are located in the bile duct of humans and ruminants leading to health issues in human and economic losses in animals. The aim of this study was to evaluate the rate of Fasciola infection in the liver of slaughtered Cattles/Buffaloes and sheep/goat of Sarab slaughterhouse during April ۲۰۲۱ until April ۲۰۲۲. Overall, ۱۱۹۶۳ slaughtered livestocks were inspected, of these numbers, ۶۶۹۴ were sheeps and goats and ۵۲۶۹ were Cattles and Buffaloes. According to our results, the prevalence of in Cattle and Buffaloes was ۳.۲۴%, and in Sheep and goats ۱.۹۷%. The results of this study indicated that the prevalence of the aforementioned parasite was rather high, which caused high economic losses. Therefore, sanitary and preventive measures should be taken.
