چکیده مقاله:

Road accidents represent a significant social and economic issue in Iran, particularly under the influence of weather conditions and wind speed. Despite Iran comprising only one-hundredth of the world's population, it accounts for one-fortieth of global road accidents. Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the primary and secondary causes of road accidents in conditions of strong winds in Iran. Methods: This research is developmental and based on the analysis of road accident data. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with accident experts and drivers who were at fault in accidents over the past ten years. Findings: Data analysis reveals that human factors, particularly failure to pay attention to the front, deviation to the left, and violation of speed limits, have the greatest impact on the occurrence of accidents. Additionally, weather conditions such as low horizontal visibility and high winds were identified as significant contributing factors. Conclusion: The findings of this research highlight the importance of controlling human factors and improving road conditions to reduce road accidents in Iran. Recommendations for enhancing road safety and decreasing accidents include establishing rest centers, reconstructing roads, and installing automatic weather stations.
