چکیده مقاله:

Objectives The aim of the current study is to investigate the relationship between perfectionism and burnout. Study Design A sample of ۱۴۷ maxillofacial surgeons from Tabriz hospitals and dental clinics were haphazardly chosen. Methods Participants completed the following questionnaires: the Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (FMPS) and a burnout scale. The data was collected and analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results Variables such as worrying about mistakes (r = ۰.۵۱۳), doubt about actions (r = ۰.۵۳۵), parental expectations (r=۰.۴۱۹), parental criticism (r = ۰.۲۳۷), personal standards (r = ۰.۶۶۳), and organization (r = ۰.۵۲۲) correlated significantly and positively with lack of personal success. In regression analysis, six subscales of FMPS were found to significantly predict the criterion variable (lack of personal success). Conclusions This finding suggests that controlling perfectionism could be useful in decreasing burnout.
