چکیده مقاله:

Energy consumption optimization in tourism facilities is a critical challenge for achieving environmental sustainability while maintaining economic and operational feasibility. This study aims to evaluate and rank energy consumption optimization scenarios in sustainable tourism facilities using a multi-criteria decision-making framework. Six technical and operational scenarios and seven evaluation criteria encompassing environmental, economic, and operational dimensions were identified. The Shannon Entropy method was employed to objectively determine the relative importance of the criteria, while the VIKOR method was applied to rank the scenarios based on a compromise solution approach. The entropy results indicate that environmental criteria, particularly energy consumption reduction and carbon dioxide emission reduction, exert the greatest influence on the decision-making process. The VIKOR analysis reveals that the scenario focused on upgrading high-efficiency HVAC systems achieves the lowest compromise index and is identified as the most preferred option, as it provides a balanced trade-off between energy savings, environmental performance, and economic-operational considerations. Integrated renewable and energy management solutions and smart lighting upgrades also demonstrate strong performance but are ranked lower due to higher investment costs or implementation complexity. Scenarios relying primarily on low-cost managerial measures show limited effectiveness despite their ease of implementation. The findings highlight the importance of prioritizing system-level efficiency improvements in high-impact energy systems as a strategic pathway toward sustainable energy management in tourism facilities. The proposed Entropy-VIKOR framework offers a practical and data-driven decision-support tool for managers and policymakers seeking to enhance energy sustainability in the tourism sector.
