Mapping the Intellectual Structure of Green Tourism Entrepreneurship Research in Local Communities

This study aims to outline the intellectual structure, scientific trends, and identify emerging research areas in the field of green tourism entrepreneurship in local communities. The present study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of approach, and analyzes the scientific productions of this field using the scientometric analysis method. The statistical population of the study includes ۳۰۲ scientific articles published in the Scopus database during the period from ۲۰۰۰ to ۲۰۲۵, which were extracted using a systematic and targeted search strategy based on Boolean operators. Data analysis was performed using VOSviewer software and by examining the co-occurrence of words, co-authorship networks, and conceptual structures. The results showed that the concepts of sustainable development and sustainability, as the central cores of the research, have the greatest linking power in the conceptual network, and the research mainly focuses on the intersection of green economy, tourism, and entrepreneurship. Also, thematic clusters related to ecotourism, green entrepreneurship, innovation, rural tourism, and local development play an important role in shaping this field. Temporal overlap analysis also indicates the transition of research from traditional approaches to tourism management towards new topics such as green business, social entrepreneurship, local community resilience, and sustainable development in recent years. Overall, the findings confirm the interdisciplinary, sustainability-oriented, and community-centered nature of this field and reveal significant research gaps for future research and policymaking in sustainable tourism.
