چکیده مقاله:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the disruptive technologies which will transform the future of mankind. It has gained tremendous amount of attention since large language models (LLMs) and generative AI have been introduced by giants of silicon-valley and used extensively by different kinds of users in different kinds of applications world-wide. This technology is affecting all aspect of our everyday lives and it is one of the main pillars of digital transformation. Urban transportation as a key element of modern living standard is being transformed by this technology. After Web ۲.۰ expansion when modern business models in transportation knocked on our doors It is time for artificial intelligence to make its moves in this industry. But, despite having a massive effect on our lives, urban transportation and digital transportation in this industry has been neglected and there is not a major reference gathering all applications of AI illustrating possible opportunities. In this paper, we turned our focus on the applications of artificial intelligence in urban transportation. We used a systematic literature review approach on Web of science database using a specific search term and extracted papers from ۲۰۱۹ to ۲۰۲۳. Next, we synthesized the applications of AI using meta synthesis approach resulting in seven major categories each having different sub-categories. Our synthesized list shows many opportunities to run new ventures and business models and establish new startups, help existing transportation and non- transportation companies with their requirements and possible future developments in their business models, assist public sector to be informed where to invest and regulate and last but not least, a big picture of the future of urban transportation being transformed with artificial intelligence.
