چکیده مقاله:
The microbiome has emerged as a transformative platform for bio-innovation across food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and biotechnological industries. Advances in high-throughput sequencing, multi-omics technologies, and computational modeling have revealed the extensive genetic and metabolic enabling systematic discovery of bioactive compounds and functional metabolites. This review aims to elucidate the stepwise bio-innovation value chain, from microbiome discovery and functional characterization to industrial-scale production and final product development. This review proposes an integrative system-level framework that bridges microbiome discovery with industry, addressing the existing gap between microbial research advances and scalable product development. The process begins with microbiome identification, followed by functional screening and selection of safe, stable, and biologically efficient strains. Subsequent stages involve genetic and metabolic engineering using advanced tools such as CRISPR-based systems to optimize production pathways and enhance yield. The review further addresses controlled bioprocessing, fermentation optimization, downstream extraction and purification strategies, and comprehensive quality control frameworks required to ensure safety, stability, and regulatory compliance. Applications of microbiome-derived products, are discussed in the context of pharmaceutical development, infection control, and dermatological health. Sustainable industrial translation of microbiome-derived products depends on interdisciplinary collaboration, robust regulatory alignment, and the development of stable, safe, and high-performing microbial platforms capable of delivering reproducible and health-oriented solutions.
