چکیده مقاله:

This study investigates the influence of emotional intelligence (EI) on the improvement of speaking fluency among intermediate Iranian learners of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Speaking fluency is a critical yet challenging component of language proficiency, often hindered by affective variables such as anxiety and lack of self-confidence. Emotional intelligence, defined as the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and utilize emotions effectively, has shown potential in enhancing communicative competence. Employing a quasi-experimental design, ۴۰ intermediate EFL learners were divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group participated in an eight-week EI training program integrated with speaking practice, while the control group followed a conventional speaking curriculum. Pre- and post-tests measuring speaking fluency and emotional intelligence levels were administered. Statistical analysis revealed significant improvements in the experimental group's speaking fluency and EI scores, confirming the positive role of emotional intelligence in fostering more fluent and confident oral performance.
