Review of Cancers (Leukemia and Stomach Cancer) and Treatment Methods with Emphasis on the Use of Medicinal Plants

Cancer is one of the most important public health challenges in the world and, despite significant advances in medical science, it remains one of the leading causes of death in various societies. Among the different types of cancer, leukemia and stomach cancer are of particular prevalence and importance. Leukemia involves dysfunction of blood cells and excessive proliferation of white blood cells, which can weaken the body's immune system and disrupt normal blood function. In contrast, stomach cancer results from the uncontrolled growth of malignant cells in the stomach wall and is usually diagnosed at advanced stages. Common treatment methods for these two types of cancer include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy. In recent years, attention has increased to complementary therapies, especially the use of medicinal plants. Studies have shown that active compounds in plants such as turmeric, garlic, ginger, rosemary and aloe vera have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-proliferative properties of cancer cells and can help reduce complications and improve the quality of life of patients, along with common treatments. The aim of this article is to review blood and stomach cancers and introduce the most effective common treatment methods and effective herbal therapies in the management of these diseases.
