Recently, bolted shear connectors have been introduced and examined as a practical and demountable alternative to shear studs in steel-concrete composite beams. A significant issue with welded studs is their inability to be deconstructed. Conversely, bolted shear connectors enable the deconstruction and reutilization of the connection following its service life. This study focused on investigating the cyclic behavior of embedded bolted shear connectors in steel-concrete composite beams. The specimens comprised prefabricated concrete slabs featuring a square hole that was subsequently filled with grout after the assembly of the concrete slab and steel section. Eight specimens were constructed and evaluated to assess the impact of the bolt's diameter and strength on the cyclic behavior. To ascertain its behavioral characteristics, force-slip curves were utilized. Ductility, strength degradation, and energy dissipation were the key parameters analyzed in this research. The findings indicated that the diameter and strength of the bolts considerably affected the cyclic behavior of composite beams. Enhancements in the bolt's diameter and strength led to improved ductility and energy dissipation of the connection. In addition, increasing the bolt's cross-section resulted in more than a twofold increase in the ultimate strength of the connection.
