چکیده مقاله:

The application of FRP in civil engineering has seen rapid development due to its superior properties, including a high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and ease of application. The review categorizes FRP strengthening methods into external reinforcement (longitudinal and transverse fibers) and Near-Surface Mounted (NSM) techniques, along with their combination, known as the hybrid method, with a focus on their applications, benefits, challenges, and performance. In general, strengthening methods utilizing longitudinal fibers, including the NSM technique, enhance the flexural performance of columns, particularly in slender columns. Methods incorporating transverse fibers are more effective in cases with low eccentricity and compression-dominant behavior. Hybrid methods, which integrate both longitudinal and transverse fibers, improve the overall performance of RC columns by enhancing both compressive and flexural behavior. Recent advancements and research trends are also discussed, particularly highlighting experimental studies, to provide a complete overview for practitioners and researchers in the field. At the same time, unlike previous review studies, this paper uniquely synthesizes the performance of NSM, wrapping, and hybrid FRP methods in a single framework and provides a quantitative assessment of the influence of key parameters using a comprehensive dataset, offering insights that have not been addressed in earlier reviews.
