چکیده مقاله:

Boiler is one of the first energy-consuming parts of any process industry or power plant. And, its efficiency deteriorates with time, due to poor combustion, heat transfer fouling and inappropriate operation and maintenance. Moreover, fuel quality and water quality also lead to the poor performance of the boiler. Hence, efficiency testing helps us to find out how far the boiler efficiency drifts away from the best efficiency. In this work, a complete energy auditing of the boilers was carried out at Leaching department in NICICO by ASME (American Society for Mechanical Engineers) power test code, PTC ۴.۱. It suggests two methods, the first method is the input-output method, and the second method is the heat loss method, but the latter is the more reliable one. The first method showed efficiency ۸۴.۶ % for boiler NO.۱ and ۸۳.۹% for boiler NO.۲, and the second method showed ۶۷ % and ۳۳% from the best efficiency of the boiler NO.۱ and boiler NO.۲. Through a complete energy audit, it was reported that ۷۶ %, for boiler NO.۱ and ۳۱.۰۹% for boiler No.۲ of input heat energy is carried away with dry flue gases.
