چکیده مقاله:

Deep and broad pollution of surface and groundwater has become one of the planet's most formidable environmental problems, with enormous repercussions to ecosystems and human health. The article provides a detailed explanation, outlining the need for new, innovative, and effective measures to control water pollution and an analysis of how contaminants can affect food safety, especially those related to crops cultivated for human consumption and aquatic animals. The article uses several international and national studies to provide a conclusion, which highlights the role of food chain pollutants, such as heavy metals, pesticide residues, or petroleum compounds gaining entry into the food chain from contaminated water supplies, and has been demonstrated to compromise environmental water quality, as well as serious implications for human health, with adverse impacts from neurological health effects and cancers to reproductive effects. A number of control or mitigation plans are outlined in the review. While integrated water resource management was one of the major strategies to control pollution at all levels, this is found in adopting educated technologies, taking more stringent regulatory approaches, and utilizing community knowledge and education in reducing pollutant source pollution. It also looks at the socio-economic factors to promote water pollution and the feasibility of developing countries dealing with water pollution, using case study analysis based on Iran water management practices today. This provides important information for decision makers, studies, and environmental practitioners developing targeted tactics that improve water quality and safety to produce quality and safe food. So, in all, this review calls for interdisciplinary studies and approaches to protecting water resources while producing sustainable public health outcomes globally.
