Drilling Fluid Hazard & Control Measures

The use of chemicals and drilling fluids in the workplace presents hazards and risks to personnel involved in their handling and application. In order to minimize these hazards, risk assessments are performed and HSE control measures and management systems are established to identify hazards and risks and where possible, eliminate those risks through control/engineering measures, Where not possible, manage those risks through processes including the use of PPE. Provision of training and awareness systems designed to achieve the above and promote continuous improvement is necessary also.In this study hazards regarding drilling fluid in different work stage like mixing, treatment, tests and etc. and their control measures like Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) application, PPE, housekeeping rules and etc. are investigated.
