چکیده مقاله:

ABSTRACT Background & Aims: Job burnout, a syndrome characterized by chronic emotional and physical fatigue, can lead to adverse consequences. It encompasses three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and individual inefficiency. The present study aimed to assess the dimensions of job burnout in health workers in Ahvaz health centers. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on ۱۱۳ healthcare workers employed in health centers in Ahvaz in ۲۰۱۹. The participants were selected via the census method, and the data collection tool was the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). The data were analyzed in SPSS software (version ۲۴) using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson Correlation tests. Results: The majority of participants were female (۵۲.۲%), single (۷۷.۹%), and held a diploma degree (۴۷.۸%). The work experience of most participants ranged from ۱۱ to ۲۰ years. The mean job burnout intensity among health workers was ۸۲.۲۰±۵.۷. In addition, the mean scores for the three dimensions of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and individual inefficiency were obtained at ۳۶.۸±۱۵.۷, ۸.۴±۷.۸, and ۳۷.۳±۱۰.۵, respectively. A significant relationship was also detected between job burnout and years of work experience in this study. Conclusion: Given the high level of job burnout in health workers in Ahvaz, it is necessary that officials pay more attention to improving and rectifying the current situation. Providing specialized training to reduce job burnout in health workers can increase efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity in providing health services.
