Review of Hip Replacement Surgery as an Innovative Treatment Method for Acute and Chronic Joint Problems in Dogs and Cats

In this article, hip replacement surgery is reviewed as one of the most innovative treatment methods for acute and chronic joint problems in dogs and cats. The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive view of the success rate, technological advances, and implementation challenges of this procedure. This surgery is performed to reduce pain, improve motor function, and increase the quality of life of animals in cases where other treatment methods have not been effective. The results have shown that the correct implementation of this procedure is successful in more than ۹۰% of cases and its long-term benefits include improved motor function and the animal's return to daily life. This article also introduces new technologies such as ۳D printing and the use of biocompatible materials as effective factors in advancing this procedure. In addition to the success of this procedure, challenges such as prosthesis dislocation, infection, and the need for careful postoperative care have also been reviewed. This article emphasizes the importance of a skilled surgical team and future medical advances that will enable significant improvements in the results of this treatment.
