چکیده مقاله:

High-Intensity Exercise (HIE) is increasingly utilized in training programs for athletes and active individuals. However, HIE often leads to severe fatigue, muscle damage, and prolonged recovery times, which can impair future performance. Traditional recovery methods often have limited effectiveness. In recent years, Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) has garnered growing attention as a novel, non-invasive approach to modulate the autonomic nervous system and reduce inflammation. This article investigates the effect of VNS on various recovery parameters following HIE. We discuss potential mechanisms, including the activation of cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathways, modulation of the sympathetic-parasympathetic nervous system balance, and influence on immune system function. Preliminary evidence suggests that VNS can help reduce delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), improve biochemical markers of muscle damage, and accelerate return to performance. This article also explores methodological challenges and future research opportunities in this emerging field. Ultimately, the conclusion emphasizes the significant potential of VNS as an effective tool for optimizing athletic recovery and promoting athlete well-being.
