Meditation, an ancient method for calming the mind and increasing awareness, has received a lot of attention in recent years. Research shows that meditation can have positive effects on reducing stress and anxiety. This abstract examines the effects of meditation on mental health and reducing symptoms of stress and anxiety. Studies have shown that regular meditation practice can help reduce levels of stress hormones such as cortisol and increase feelings of calm and contentment. Meditation also helps people to distance themselves from negative thoughts and everyday worries by focusing on their breathing and the present. Various meditations, including mindfulness meditation and transcendental meditation, have been particularly effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety and improving sleep quality. These methods allow people to approach their feelings and thoughts with greater awareness, thereby increasing their ability to manage stress. Finally, meditation is known as an effective tool in managing stress and anxiety and can help improve the quality of life and mental health of individuals. Given the positive results of research, it is recommended that individuals practice meditation regularly to reap its benefits.
