A Systematic Review of Behaviorist Interventions in the Treatment of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders in childhood. Behaviorist interventions—including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), positive reinforcement, token economy systems, and parent training—have emerged as prominent non-pharmacological strategies for managing ADHD symptoms. This systematic review aims to analyze and synthesize recent empirical research focused on the effectiveness of these behavioral approaches in mitigating the core symptoms of ADHD. The findings support the value of structured behaviorist treatments, especially when implemented in school and family contexts.
