چکیده مقاله:

Scorpion venom is an important source of peptides and proteins which can be candidates for drug development. So, researchers have tried to identify different types of venom gland peptides from scorpion species intrinsic to different countries to lead them to new pharmacological peptides. In the current research we analyzed the transcriptome obtained from the venom gland of an Iranian scorpion, Mesobuthus crucittii, to characterize a peptide with pharmacological properties. Physicochemical analysis of this peptide revealed that it is an acidic water-soluble peptide. Three-dimensional structure of this peptide was also determined. Function analysis of this peptide revealed that this peptide can have antimicrobial activity. Identification of new venom peptide with pharmacological properties can light ways to drug development.
