چکیده مقاله:

The relentless rise of drug-resistant parasites poses a profound challenge to global healthcare, necessitating innovative strategies to counteract their spread. This research explores the potential of Dracocephalum kotschyi essential oils as a novel therapeutic avenue for combatting these resilient strains. Dracocephalum kotschyi, a well-documented medicinal plant, is known for its rich composition of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids and terpenoids, which exhibit significant antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. This study aims to dissect the effects of these essential oils on drug-resistant parasites at the genomic level, utilizing advanced molecular techniques such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). We will investigate the biochemical and genetic impacts of D. kotschyi essential oils, focusing on their ability to disrupt cellular processes and induce genetic modifications in parasites. These modifications could potentially restore the effectiveness of conventional drugs by reversing resistance mechanisms. The research encompasses a detailed analysis of the oils’ active components, such as limonene and geranial, using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and examines their interactions with the genetic material of parasites through PCR and its advanced forms, including quantitative PCR (qPCR) and Reverse Transcription PCR (RT-PCR). By elucidating the oils’ mechanisms of action and identifying genetic biomarkers associated with resistance, this study intends to provide a comprehensive understanding of how D. kotschyi essential oils can be integrated into current therapeutic strategies. The potential for combining these natural products with existing pharmacological treatments is also explored, aiming to enhance treatment efficacy while minimizing toxicity and resistance development. Our findings are expected to contribute significantly to the field of antimicrobial resistance, offering a promising natural alternative to synthetic drugs and fostering the development of next-generation therapies. Through these efforts, the research highlights the crucial role of plant-derived compounds in advancing our arsenal against increasingly complex parasitic infections, underscoring the importance of continued exploration into traditional medicine’s vast potential.
