چکیده مقاله:
The Pelton turbine is an impulse turbine that operates in an atmospheric environment rather than being submerged in water, unlike reaction turbines such as Francis and Kaplan turbines. In the Pelton turbine, water's energy is transferred to the turbine through a fluid jet. This type of turbine has the lowest specific speed among the aforementioned turbines and is the most suitable for high head and low flow rate applications. In this paper, the occurrence of cavitation in a Pelton turbine will be investigated numerically. The physical parameters influencing the occurrence of cavitation in a Pelton turbine will be analyzed and discussed.
