چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Aromatherapy has been one of the ancient methods to increase relaxation and reduce stress among people. However, many researches such as clinical trials have been conducted to investigate the effect of different herbs on behavioral characteristics and the level of stress and anxiety. The results of these studies prove that scents such as: lavender, orange, rose, etc. They have had positive effects on people's mood and behavioral characteristics. Therefore, we are looking for non-pharmacological ways in the field of aromatherapy to treat or control high blood pressure patients in order to improve the indicators of high blood pressure as well as the high heart rate of people. In this research, with a systematic review based on the standards of search principles, we are looking for a review of the effect of aromatherapy on blood pressure and heart rate in heart patients. Search Strategy: A review study of the present system was conducted in accordance with international standards and according to the PRISMA checklist. English language articles were searched from Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct and Google Scholar databases with keywords in English. In addition, Irandoc, SID and Magiran databases were searched for studies published in Persian language. The search was limited to the years ۲۰۰۰ to ۲۰۲۴. The search terms used were 'Aromatherapy', 'blood pressure', 'heart rate', 'stress-anxiety-heart patients', which were combined using appropriate Boolean operators such as AND and OR. Studies published in languages other than English and Farsi, expert opinions, conference abstracts, case reports, studies without full text, and qualitative studies were excluded from the review. A checklist was used to evaluate and validate clinical trial studies. Results: The results of clinical trials conducted in the field of aromatherapy, including the use of jasmine, lavender, and orange scents, confirm that this method can be an effective non-pharmacological method for the complementary treatment of blood pressure patients.
