In the field of research and scientific endeavors, it is imperative to consider cost reduction and compact size. Planar waveguides have emerged as a promising alternative to optical fibers due to their ability to scale and cost-effectiveness. However, waveguides must not only meet these requirements but also enhance the capabilities of fibers. To achieve this, dispersion management plays a crucial role in bringing the wave carrier closer to achieving scientific objectives. This paper provides an overview of research conducted on dispersion management in different waveguide structures.
