Training and Higher Education from the Perspective of Prophetic Lifestyle

The first basis of moral education in the life of the Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) is the interweaving of religion and ethics. The second basis is the righteousness of the action and the motive of the agent, which means that in the life of the Prophet (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH), the criterion of the value of moral behavior is that, firstly, the said behavior is a pleasant behavior (Hosn-e Fe’li), and secondly, the person performs that behavior with the motivation of following the orders of God Almighty (Hosn-e Faeli). The principle obtained from this basis is the principle of refinement of appearance and interior. This principle means that the trainer should remove the outer appearance of the trainer from improper behavior and the inner part of the trainer from unhealthy motives. The moral education methods of the Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) have a kind of comprehensiveness that other educational schools do not have. This means that in the life of the Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH), both the methods that give importance to the environment and the methods that value the cultivation of habits and desirable moral behaviors are used. In the life of the Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH), four types of methods have been used in moral education: ۱- methods of creating basis, ۲- methods of cultivating moral awareness and insight, ۳- methods of cultivating moral tendencies and habits, ۴- methods of correcting vices.
