چکیده مقاله:
This paper explores the profound influence of Avicenna (Ibn Sina) on the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas, particularly in the areas of metaphysics and natural theology. By examining key concepts such as the distinction between essence and existence, the nature of God as the Necessary Existent, and the soul’s immortality, this article demonstrates how Avicenna’s ideas were integrated, adapted, and modified within the Christian intellectual tradition. Special attention is given to how Aquinas synthesized Avicenna’s philosophy with Aristotelianism and Christian theology, producing a framework that became foundational for Western scholasticism. The cross-cultural transmission of Avicenna’s works through Latin translations and their impact on Aquinas highlights the shared intellectual heritage of the Islamic and Christian philosophical traditions.
